Our Ranch is located in the beautiful Mora Valley on the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, nine and one half miles northeast of the town of Mora on Highway 434 towards Angel Fire. We are about 40 miles southeast of Taos, 20 miles from Angel Fire, 40 miles from Las Vegas and about 70 miles from our State Capital of Santa Fe.

Our 31.558 acres of land is made up of pasture land with native grasses and lots of Ponderosa pine trees. A seasonal arroyo flows into two man made dirt ponds with the snow melt from winter.  We have a wonderful 180 degree view of the mountains from our house.  Many people visiting us have commented on the beautiful view that we have.  It seems as though you can almost touch the stars on a clear night.  Our elevation on the ranch is at 7350 ft.

The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1640 sq ft. It faces south for full sun exposure. There is a 12 X 24 Studio in back. It was built in 2002 and is in great shape. There is a 60 X 12 deck in front. Forced air heat, wood burning stove. The property has 2 wells and 2 dirt ponds. There is water ran out to the pastures. 3 barns and a work shop

If skiing is your interest, there are a number of ski areas very near the ranch, all within one half hour to two hours driving distance.

Fishing at Eagle Nest lake is within about a 35 mile distance.  It is one of the finest trout fishing regions in the state, with a year round angling season. Coyote Creek State Park and Morphy Lake State Park are located near Mora. State campgrounds and Carson National Forest are near the ranch too.

Mora County lies at the juncture of the high great plains and Sangre de Cristo range of the Rockies with Mora Valley in the western half. The town of Mora on the Mora River is the county seat. It is located about half way between Las Vegas, New Mexico and Taos, New Mexico on Highway 518.

The weather is moderate in the valley itself. The typical January temperature swing is from +10 to 45 and in the heat of the summer 50 to 85 degrees F. County rainfall averages 16" per year, and a bit more in the valley and higher elevations.

Mora is a beautiful sight. One of the most beautiful sites in the United States. Carson National Forest, Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos Wilderness Area all occupy portions of Mora County.
